Selection and Eligibility Criteria for Admissions at IISM
Part A :
Applying through SMAT :
The students appearing for SMAT for BSM, MSM or PGPSM program will be shortlisted for next round based on sectional and overall cutoffs.The cutoff will be declared during the time of results.
Open category: Minimum required percentage at the HSC and graduation level (Bachelor’s degree) is 50% for applicants belonging to the Open category.
Reserved Category: Minimum required percentage at the HSC and graduation level (Bachelor’s degree) is 45% for applicants belonging to the Reserved category.
Since the students would be securing admissions before their final results for HSC/Graduation would be out, their admissions would be considered on provisional basis and its only after the submission of their final passing exam document that their admissions would be confirmed.
An undertaking to this effect will be signed by the student and the parent both.
Applying through MAH-CET Scores :
Applying through MAH-CET Scores : MSM & PG Aspirants can now apply for their dream career in Sports Management through MAH-CET scores.
Candidates obtaining 55 percentile (Open category) and 45 percentile (Reserved Category), in the MAH-CET test, gets a waiver from appearing for the SMAT test.
The registration process begins by applying through MAH-CET scores.
On being registered, the candidate is eligible for the Round 2 & Round 3 of admission process, i.e SoP Submission & Panel Interview, respectively.
Part B :
The selected candidates shall be further assessed on the following:
MSM/PGPSM – The selected candidates shall be provided a questionnaire based on which they’ll have to submit a “Statement Of Purpose (SoP)” for joining.
The candidates shall be shortlisted based on the test and SoP submission for a personal round of interview by the panelists from Sports Industry.
The interview shall focus on candidate’s liking and awareness on business in sports.
BSM – The selected candidates have to submit an essay on the topics given to them related to sports and social issues. The pointers will be provided to the selected candidates to write the essay.
The candidates shall be shortlisted based on their SMAT results and essay submission for personal interaction. The interaction shall focus on candidate’s liking and awareness on business in sports.
Based on the SMAT score, SoP/ Essay submission, Academic background (no specific weightage to 12th or graduation score),extra-curricular activities and over all personality a final list of candidates would be published on the IISM website.
Part C :
On conducting each round of SMAT-SoP/Essay-PI, a final list of selected candidates will be published on the IISM website including the waiting list.
The selected candidates will be also receive a offer letter from the institute to join the course. From the date of sending the letter, the candidate will be given 15 days to pay the fees to block their seats, which would be on a first-come-first served basis. After 15 days the waiting lists’ candidates will be informed and they will also be offered 15 days to pay the fees.
Part D :
Cancellation or Refund of fees:
All the successful candidates who on election and payment of fees decide for any reason to cancel their admissions can apply for cancellation or refund. The policy for cancellation/refund would be as follows:
In case of application received by IISM on or before 10th June 2018 (One month before program commences) 80 % fees would be refunded and 20 % would be deducted as administrative charges.
Incase of applications received by IISM after 10th June 2018 till the date of commencement of the program 70 % of the fees would be refunded and 30 % shall be deducted as administrative charges
Incase of applications received after the commencement of the program – No refund would be made.
