Selection and Eligibility Criteria for Admissions at IISM

Part A:

The students appearing for SMAT for BSM /MSM /PGPSM program will be shortlisted for next round (GD-PI)based on a percentile system of scoring.

Open category: The students from this category who would score a minimum of 55 % percentile in the written (online SMAT exam) would be shortlisted for the next round.

Minimum required percentage at the HSC and graduation level (Bachelor’s degree) is 50% for applicants belonging to the Open category.

Reserved Category: The students from this category who would score a minimum of 45 %
percentile in the SMAT exam would be considered for the next round.

Minimum required percentage at the HSC and graduation level (Bachelor’s degree) is 45% for applicants belonging to the Reserved category.

Since the students would be securing admissions before their final results for HSC/Graduation would be out, their admissions would be considered on provisional basis and only after submission of their final passing exam document their admissions would be confirmed. An undertaking to this effect will be signed by the student and the parent both.

Part B:

The GD-PI round would be marked out of 100 each and a normal percentage would be drawn.

The purpose of GD-PI is to assess the students ability to communicate his/her views confidently, career clarity, ability to express coherently, logical and analytical ability to out forth ideas, team ability, interpersonal skills to establish the capability of the student to undergo the rigour of the programs applied for.

Based on the SMAT score, GD PI score, Academic background (no specific weightage to 12th or graduation score), and extra-curricular activities and over all personality a final list of candidates would be published on the IISM website.

Part C :

On conducting each round of SMAT-GD-PI, a final list of selected candidates will be published on the IISM website including the wait listed ones. The selected candidates will be also receive a offer letter from the institute to join the course. From the date of sending the letter, the candidate will be given 15 days to pay the fees to block the seats, which would be on a first-come-first served basis. After 15 days the wait listed candidates will be informed and they will also be offered 15 days to pay the fees.

Part D :

This essentially would mean that one of complete round of selection would be conducted in a span of approx. 45 days. Hence the next round of SMAT-GD-PI would be scheduled only after the previous round is complete and allocation of seats is done.

Part E:

Cancellation or Refund of fees:

All the successful candidates who on election and payment of fees decide for any reason to cancel their admissions can apply for cancellation or refund. The policy for cancellation/refund would be as follows:

In case of application received by IISM on or before 10th June 2017 (One month before program commences) 80 % fees would be refunded and 20 % would be deducted as administrative charges.

Incase of applications received by IISM after 10th June 2017 till the date of commencement of the program 70 % of the fees would be refunded and 30 % shall be deducted as administrative charges

Incase of applications received after the commencement of the program – No refund would be made.
