Published On: January 21, 2021

IISM is the happiest when its students embark on their journey in the Sports Industry. Our students are making a mark of their own and we’re proud of them all. In another breakthrough, two of our students- Jairath Chugh & Rounak Majumdar from Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management Batch 2018-21, have been selected at Global Sports Week, Paris as Young Sports Makers.

About Global Sports Week:

Global Sports Week is a platform where global sports leaders, change-makers, cultural influencers, activists & athletes gather to shake, shape & share the future of sports across the limits of geographical, societal & business boundaries. In the year 2021, as sport emerges from a period of unprecedented halt & disruption, the first multi-country edition is all set for Sport’s New Era. As of now. Mr. Abhinav Bindra, Olympic gold-medalist & Ms. Manasi Joshi, Current Para-Badminton World Champion would be joining GSW as guest speakers from India.

Young Sports Makers:

GSW’s The Young Sports Makers programme aims at focusing on passionate youth from across the world – athletes, students, social entrepreneurs & young professionals- who are the voice of the Generation Z. These Young Sports Makers will play an integral role in the GSW’s 2021 edition.

Youth from 16 nationalities are represented, with 22 females and 12 males forming the squad. The Young Sports Makers will also channel the questions from the participants on the digital platform to feed the discussions happening on the ground across the six hubs.

We’re elated that our students will not only be representing the institute only but also the nation at a global platform. They have instilled the best about sports industry in themselves over the years in the institute and this is their moment to shine with the knowledge they have. This platform will not only give a voice to students and aspiring Sports Management professionals like Jairath & Rounak, but will also give outlook of young minds on sports, its ecosystem, scope, future and post-covid scenario. We’re happy for our students and wish the best for them.
